Paladka, Oct 30, 2008 : St. Christopher Association (Vahana Chalakara Sangha) Paladka celebrated their Annual Feast of its patron on Sunday the 19th October, 2008 at the church of St. Ignatius Loyola, Paladka in a grand manner.

The Association offered the mass in honour of the patron through Rev. Fr. Stany Rodrigues, parish priest at 8.00 AM and attended by the members of the association as well as a number of devotees. Sweets were distributed to all the participants after the mass.

Soon after the mass, everybody has gathered in the church ground where the vehicles were parked in an orderly way for blessings.

The Choir group rendered the beginning prayer and also singing in praise of Holy Spirit. The Parish Priest offered the prayers followed by Gospel reading by Mr. Hilary D’Souza, recollection by Mr. Vincent Sequeira and devotee’s prayers by Mr. Andrew Serrao.

The President of the Association Mr. Salvadore Rodrigues spoke on the occasion and requested all concerned to resort to careful driving for protecting not only themselves but also the precious lives of public. He also remembered one of our members, Mr. Anthony Dias who was honoured in the earlier year had died recently; and requested to pray for his soul to get heavenly (eternal) peace. Mr. Salvadore requested to pray others also, who might have suffered injuries due to mishaps and ill health.

After that the parish priest blessed the vehicles parked in the ground. The Rock Mines, Poabsons – Kadandale also sent their vehicles in token for the blessings among others.

The blessing programme ended with the prayer giving thanks to the Lord.

Finally, Mr. Hilary D’Souza, secretary of the association, extended vote of thanks and thus the function came to its close.
