Jan 8, 2008 : Paladka is all set to celebrate its annual feast for the glory of its Patron, St. Ignatius Loyola on Wednesday, the 9th Jan, 2008. It is a custom & tradition of the Mangalore Diocese churches to celebrate the previous Sunday as Eucharistic Sunday (Compricho Aithar).

All the parishioners and guests from the nearby Sampige and Alangar Parishes gathered together for the morning 8 AM mass.

Fr. Joachim Fernandes, Professor – St. Joseph’s Seminary, Mangalore was the main celebrant along with the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Norbert Lobo and 2 other guest priests.

At the end of the mass, there was a brief adoration of the Holy Sacrament. Later the Holy Sacrament was taken in a procession with everybody devotionally participating in the hour long procession.

This time the procession path was a full round to the Church in an anti-clockwise direction with the path as given below.

Leaving the Church through left main entrance (9.30 AM) -> by the side of Felix’s Hotel -> then to Mavina Katte -> then Paladka Bus-stand -> then through Church Dwara -> finally entering the Church through right main entrance (10.30 AM).

The procession path was beautifully decorated by the Parishioners with banners here and there displaying the Good News of our Saviour-Jesus Christ.

“Paladkachi Zhar” – January 2008 (19th) issue of the Half- yearly Magazine of the Church was released and served to the Parishioners on this occasion.
