St. Ignatius Ward, one of the 12 wards of St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Paladka celebrated an annual fest or sahamilan in the house of Mr.Raymond Sequeira, Gurkar of the ward on Sunday, the 25th Jan, 2009 at 3.00 PM.

Rev. Fr. Stany Rodrigues, Parish Priest of the Church accompanied by Parish Parishad Vice President Mr. Vincent Sequeira and Secretary Mr. Denis D”Mello and representatives of other neighbouring wards and also office bearers of various associations were present and shared the dias. The programme was attended by the representatives of households in the ward including a number of non catholic people around.

The celebrations commenced at 3.00 PM by lighting the lamp by Parish Priest who also presided over the function. Smt. Hilda Sequeira read the report on activities undertaken during the past one year. Dance programmes were exhibited by children. A number of games were hld and prizes were distributed to the winners.

In his presidential address the parish priest appreciated the efforts taken by Mr.Raymond Sequeira to arrange this kind of function which is well attended by not only catholic people of the ward but also non catholics who were in good numbers and hailed that real meaning of neighbourhood was seen by him in the celebrations. Smt. Shobha Crasta extended vote of thanks. Mr.Robin Fernandes compered the programme.
