On the occasion of centenary of St. Ignatius aided Higher primary school, Moodbidri Deanery level Altar boys cricket tournament ‘Royal Trophy’ was held on 28th November 2015 at Paladka Church grounds. Fr. Kenneth Crasta, the Deanery Director of Altar boys, Denis D’Mello, the Vice President of Parish Pastoral Parishad, Vincent Pinto, the Secretary of Parish Pastoral Parishad, Maxim Lobo, Secretary of centenary sports committee were present as guests.

Fr. Kenneth Crasta inaugurated the tournament by lighting the lamp. In his message he asked the altar boys to play a fair game and uplift the values of altar boys. Mr. Denis D’Mello in his message admired the leadership shown by the Altar boys and asked them to play for unity and not for competition. Stevan D’Souza welcomed the guests and players Jencil D’Mello proposed vote of thanks. Winston Sequeira compered the programme.

Wilfred Aranha, Daniel Cutinha, Glen Sequeira and Vinay were the Umpires for the tournament. Jeevan D’souza and Brendon Cutinha were the scorers. Vincent Pinto, Puneeth D’Souza and Felix D’Souza were the commentators for the match.

Altar boys of Paladka Parish won the first place and Alangar Parish second place. Glanson of Paladka won the ‘Man of the series’ award, Stevan D’Souza won the ‘Best batsman’ award and Keerthi of Alangar awarded the ‘Best bowler’ award.
