The General Meeting of the St. Christopher Association, Paladka was recently held on the 29th of October 2006 following the morning mass at the new school mini hall and attended by most of its members. The meeting began with a song of prayer followed by a summary of the previous meeting read out by the outgoing Secretary Mr. Bonaventure Menezes. Details of the association’s income and expenses were briefed by the Treasurer Mr. Paustine Sequeira.
Mr. Andrew D’Souza, the association’s outgoing President was honoured with a shawl, by Mr. Peter Cardoza, a retired high school teacher from Fathima Ward with Mr. Salvadore Rodrigues speaking on Andrew’s childhood and achievements. Mr Andrew D’Souza was felicitated for being considered by the Karnataka Government as one of the 6 selected best Higher primary school teachers in D.K district.
The association then witnessed a change-of-guard ceremony with the handing over of documents and outgoing office bearers making way for their successors. The new association president Mr. Salvadore Rodrigues, thanking all present, acknowledged the show of trust and goodwill from the members in electing him to lead the association assuring them of his dedication to its welfare. The auspicious event concluded with the new association secretary Mr. Hilary D’Souza expressing his gratitude for the presence and backing of all members and guests present. The meeting ended with a song of prayer to the Lord followed by a grand tea party.
