Catechism classes in the Church normally commence in June for children and youth of class 1-12 and end in February. This is year also they came to an end with the grand celebration of Catechism Sunday on February 18th.
The day began with morning 8 AM mass with Rev. Fr. Ronald Serrao, Director-Mangalajyothi being the main celebrant along with Rev. Fr. Elias Pinto and the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Norbert Lobo. Fr. Ronald Serrao very effectively narrated the Word of God in which he stressed that the true meaning of Catechism lies in forgiving others and hence leading a life in the path laid down by our Saviour Jesus Christ.
The Catechism students actively participated in the liturgy. After the mass, all the catechism students and parishioners gathered in the Church Hall for a social function. The students presented various cultural activities including bible parables. The students who topped in the Catechism exams were honoured during the function.
The Parish Priest thanked Bro. Roshan Thomas D’Souza of St. Joseph’s Seminary-Mangalore for his one year Sunday ministry in the church. Sisters from Paladka as well as Mount Rosary Convent- Alangar, Bro. Nelson Pais were present during the occasion.
