Catechism day was celebrated at Paladka church on 2nd March 2014. Eucharistic mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr Maxim Rosario, the administrator of St. Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu. In his homily he said that we get only 20-22 days in a year for formal catechism in the church. Children get informal catechism through other church related activities. Catechism starts from womb.

After the mass programme was arranged in the church hall. The convener of the catechism Smt. Jecintha Sequeira welcomed the guests and the gathering. Secretary Smt. Veena Pinto presented the annual report. Then there was cultural programme from the students. Venil D’sa and Twisha D’Souza spoke on behalf of students. Smt. Anitha D’souza and Mr.Bernard Cardoza spoke on behalf of parents. Smt. Winny Pinto shared her experience as a catechism teacher. Students who secured highest marks in the catechism examination were felicitated. Prizes were also given for good maintenance of notes books and for regular attendance.

Parish Priest Fr. Ivan Michael Rodrigues, Chief guest Fr. Maxim Rosario, Sr. Superior of Convent Sr. Amala, Bro. Fredrick Pais, Vice president Mr. Denis D’mello, secretary Mr. Vincent Pinto and all catechism teachers were on the dais.

Smt. Victoria cardoza proposed vote of thanks. Alma D’Cunha and Elroy Aranha compered the programme.

Before the programme light refreshments and after the programme lunch was served to all the participants by the food committee of the Parish pastoral parishad.
